I like that it comes with letter tiles, counting blocks, and other manipulatives. ![]() If something is too hard, I consider whether it's really important and often skip it. If I know my kid has something, I skip the checkpoint. The language (for my daughter, Chinese,) was much too difficult. There was a fairly Christian-based unit in history that we skipped. There were some fun science and SS/History, but we skipped the quizzes because we were trying for interest rather than mastery. Now, we do the phonics almost completely, and parts of the Lit/Comp, writing, and math. If you want a complete curriculum, this is it.īut.it's A LOT!! We really tried to keep up in the fall, and it was just way too much. She has a teacher from her own district, though, instead of a k12 teacher. We used k12 through our district's online program this year for our first grader. But kindergarten is not hard unless you make it hard and I did. I hope I'm not adding to your confusion here getting started really is the hardest part because there's so many things to consider and you feel like your brain will explode. Do you want to focus on physical books or interactive topic based lessons. ![]() Do you like worksheets and workbooks or are you looking for something interest driven and hands on. Do you want to use resources like YouTube and online programs or do you want to stick with pen and paper. Do you have a computer, internet, printer, easy access to the library, free time to plan lessons and search out quality resources that are free/cheap. You can absolutely homeschool for very little but it is dependent on what resources you have and what you want/need out of it. Recommendations would be based on a few factors the main two are do you want it online or workbook/worksheets and do they have to be free or just affordable.
